I think there is something beautifully captivating about the elements and how they interact with each other. I decided to make this the theme of my photo series, so I loaded up my backpack, and headed into Mt. Timpanogos National Park.

I tried to follow the Chinese philosophy of Wuxing, which believes that there are five elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) that are part of a cycle. For example, Water nourishes Wood, Wood fuels fire, Fire creates Earth (ash), Water extinguishes Fire, and so forth. I tried to capture the embodiments of these elemental interactions.
